Sponsored by the Pagosa Springs Chamber of Commerce. Hot air balloon mass ascension on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Watch as the colorful Hot air balloons ascend on the west side of town (Pagosa Lakes area) both days framed by snow-capped mountains and frozen lakes. Get your camera ready! The event is weather contingent. 7:30am. Parking is not permitted on Highway 160.

Winterfest is brought to you by The Pagosa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce. A weekend filled with and celebrating winter activities. Enjoy the Bonfire Friday night, hot air balloon mass ascensions Saturday and Sunday morning (weather contingent), the Penguin Plunge, Cross County ski activities, and the Sledz on Rez.
*Postponed* BB Gun Biathlon @ Alberta Park at the Wolf Creek Ski Area
A unique, super-fun freestyle ski event in which participants can either classic or skate ski while target shooting with Red Ryder BB guns provided by the Pagosa Nordic Club. 10 seconds added for each shot missed during the race but no gun or shooting experience is needed. Parents can help the young ones cock and shoot. Kids really love this race! Prizes for the top finishers and best costumes along with participant drawing giveaways. Great fun for all ages! 9:15am. $5 members, $15 non-members.
Skis and Saddles Skijor Pagosa @ The Archuleta County Fairgrounds
Skijor Pagosa is an adventure competition where horse and rider pull a skier as fast as possible through an obstacle course of jumps, gates and rings. Skijoring combines Pagosa Country's finest skiing heritage with its cowboy roots creating a fast and curious spectator's event. Participants compete for cash and prizes based on the fastest times. 10am-6pm. Live Band at 8pm. $15 per adult for entire weekend or $10 per day, 12 and under free with an adult.
8th Annual Barkus Parade Presented by San Juan Eatery @ Town Park
Registration begins at 10:30am. Parade at 11am. Suggested donation of $10 to benefit Rugby's Rescue House. Bring your costumed pet and parade with us! Prizes for best costumes!

Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. Support your favorite non-profits by raising money and plunging into the freezing cold San Juan River, or enjoy the view from the San Juan River Walk. These brave souls don't just jump in and get out, we make them REALLY plunge into the river! Registration 12pm. Plunge at 1pm.
Sound Journey @ The Edge of Silence
Come and experience the healing benefits of epic spacial vibrations produced by large gongs, singing bowls and other sound instruments made out of new and ancient metals, clay and wood. These unique instruments will surround you in our 1300 square feet acoustical sound space. Sound Journey is 1 hour in length. Yoga mats, blankets, and neck pillows are provided. Bring eye masks and knee support if preferred. Arrive by 12:40pm for 1 pm sound journey. $25.

Take a horse-drawn ride to Elk Trace Bed & Breakfast lodge, where you will enjoy a full breakfast spread and live music while viewing a hot air balloon mass ascension. After the meal, your ride continues through the pines and returns you to the starting point. $70 adult, $55 children 3-16, $5 children under 3. 8am.
