Andrew Lippa's Wild Party is based on Joseph Moncure March's 1928 narrative poem of the same name, this darkly brilliant show features one of the most exciting, pulse-racing scores ever written. It's the roaring 1920s and the beautiful, young Queenie, although she tries, cannot find a lover able to satisfy her desires – until she meets Burrs, a vaudevillian clown with a voracious appetite for women. Lovers Queenie and Burrs decide to throw the party-to-end-all-parties in their Manhattan apartment. After the colorful arrival of a slew of guests living life on the edge, Queenie's wandering eyes land on a striking man. As the decadence is reaching a climax, so is Burrs' jealousy. Lickety-Split and Friends IMPROV @ Pagosa Center for the Arts
Lickety-Split Improv is a comedy and improvisation group founded by veteran performers Karisa Bruin and Scott Morehead, who both came up through the Chicago comedy scene and have spent the last 20+ years performing in improv and sketch theaters large and small in Chicago, New York, LA and beyond. Sound Journey @ The Edge of Silence
Come and experience the healing benefits of epic spacial vibrations produced by large gongs, singing bowls and other sound instruments made out of new and ancient metals, clay and wood. These unique instruments will surround you in our 1300 square feet acoustical sound space. Sound Journey is 1 hour in length. Yoga mats, blankets, and neck pillows are provided. Bring eye masks and knee support if preferred. Arrive by 12:40pm for 1 pm sound journey. $30.
